I was not in a good mood when I got to Tucson

But, it was pretty. And I could be alone. The mountains were attractive and terrifying at the same time. The way I like most things.
I went to BiCAs, the community bike co-op in AZ. They lent be a beater bike and a map. I left and didn't come back to the shop till it was time for me to fly away. I felt like a fish finding water when I got the bike...and just as upset when I had to give it back.I went to an Indian Reservation. I rode my bike out to the desert mountains to get there. I knew I wasn't in the USA because all the road signs measured distance in km! I had fry bread. and saw old wooden angels.
I didn't have to wear a shirt.
The city smelled like orange blossoms.
